Flirty Girl Fitness is the brainchild of sisters Kerry and Krista Knee, who quickly adopted the nickname, ‘The Flirty Girls.’ “We were watching an episode of Oprah last year where Desperate Housewives’ Terri Hatcher demonstrated a sexy workout class she takes in LA,” explained Kerry. “It looked like a blast and we just had to try it.” Like so many other women, the sisters tried to find a similar class in Toronto but found nothing was offered, so they decided to start their own! Kerry, an MBA graduate, has held a number of executive positions in various IT companies in Canada and the US; similarly, Krista, graduated from Dalhousie University with a degree in Political Science and left a management IT position in Halifax to join her sister in Toronto to develop and launch Flirty Girl Fitness.
Elaine Goodlad was raised in a small town on the Canadian Prairies as a hardworking little farm girl. After leaving home to attend Bible College Elaine was faced with depression over a failed relationship, and began making trips to the gym to overcome it and to raise her self esteem. Her future husband, Terry, introduced her to power lifting and she was hooked. What followed included numerous NPC Figure and IFBB wins, including the 2004 California Pro Show. Elaine has almost 200 appearances in magazines such as Ironman, Muscle & Fitness Magazine, Flex and American Curves, and she has been featured on a recent cover of the current issue of Oxygen magazine. www.elainefit.com
