Eating for Results, Part II

Jenny
"...there are certain things in my diet that work for me that might not work for you, because every body is different."

Special Excerpt from The Curvelle Lifestyle by Jenny Hendershott

As a champion fitness competitor, I field a lot of questions from girls who want to improve their bodies. But there's one question I get more often than any other: "Jenny, what do you eat?" The first thing I tell the girls who ask me this question is that there are certain things in my diet that work for me that might not work for them, because every body is different. In this second part of my "Eating for Results" article, I'll provide more tips on how to eat to get the results you're looking for—to create your Curvelle body—without a lot of fuss.

Tips for Eating Out

Eating out is like walking through a minefield. Men and women who eat at restaurants frequently are much more likely to be overweight than men and women who eat mostly self-prepared meals. That's because restaurant meals tend to be high in fat. Plus, the portions are huge, and you have less control over how they are prepared.

When people come to America from other countries, they can't believe how much food they get for their money. In America, we all think we need to get the most for our money. So all the restaurants—especially the chain restaurants—compete to give you bigger portions than the restaurant next door. When those huge portions show up at your table, you eat them, even if your hunger is satisfied when you still have half your food left on your plate. You're going to finish what's on your plate even if it hurts, because the food tastes good and you don't want anything to go to waste.

The price you pay for having that attitude is getting fat!

When you eat at restaurants, you have to be disciplined about sticking with your eating plan, and you have to be aggressive. You have to be a person who can sit down at a restaurant and look at a menu that has amazing pictures of food and say, "OK, I'm going to have that, but I want it clean, without all the extra stuff on it." You must be willing to tell the waiter what you want and how you want it. If you don't get what you want, send it back. It's okay—remember, you're paying for it. If your server isn't cooperative, ask for the manager. And if the manager can't help you out, then maybe it's the last time you will eat there.

I always tell girls to order a lunch portion or half portion if possible. If the restaurant doesn't have that, order a to-go box with your meal and put half your meal in the box as soon as it arrives at your table. Always go to the places that have healthy, low-calorie food choices. Slowly, fast food and chain restaurants are getting better at providing healthier menu options. But if you choose restaurants that don't have healthy options, you're setting yourself up for a challenge or, worse, for failure.

"Curvelle contains natural ingredients that work to speed up your weight loss by controlling your blood sugar, so you can "unlock" your body's ability to naturally boost metabolism and burn excess calories for energy.

Supplementation: A Little Goes a Long Way

There are so many supplements out there, it makes your head spin. Just because a particular supplement company has the most advertisements doesn't mean they make the best supplements. Also, the cheapest supplement is not always the best supplement, either. Sometimes you get a better value when you pay a little more. I strongly encourage you to research each supplement before you buy it. The Internet is a great resource for supplement information.

Understand that supplements do not cure your problems. The best supplements give a boost to a good meal plan, a consistent exercise regimen, and a focused, balanced lifestyle. Here is some information about the supplements I use, and why I use them:

Curvelle™

Curvelle is a weight-loss supplement designed specifically for women. It's a small, easy-to-swallow capsule that contains natural ingredients that work to speed up your weight loss by controlling your blood sugar, so you can "unlock" your body's ability to naturally boost metabolism and burn excess calories for energy. Curvelle also helps support optimal health of the female body with a powerful blend of antioxidants for radiant skin, hair, and beauty. When you take Curvelle, you will notice an improvement in your overall health and fewer cravings for sugars and other "diet-sabotaging" foods. Your skin and hair will become more radiant and glowing. You will lose inches from your hips, waist, thighs, and anywhere you have stubborn bodyfat or unwanted "bulges."

Curvelle is different from anything you've tried before because it's the only weight-loss supplement that works on your inner and outer beauty—to radically change how your body looks on the outside and how you feel on the inside.

"...unlike many other creatine products, 3-XL contains a special form of creatine that doesn't cause you to feel "bloated" or to retain water.

I take one serving (two capsules) of Curvelle with a full glass of water about 20 to 30 minutes before breakfast, lunch, and anytime I exercise. For best results, it's suggested that you take at least two servings per day.

3-XL™

3-XL is an advanced creatine formula to increase muscle tone and strength. Creatine is the most proven muscle-enhancing supplement, so every supplement company has at least one creatine product, but 3-XL is a much more advanced type of creatine supplement. The Fruit Punch flavor is delicious. You just mix one scoop with water and drink it after a workout to help your muscles recover faster.

What's great about 3-XL is that, unlike many other creatine products, it contains a special form of creatine that doesn't cause you to feel "bloated" or to retain water. That's why I prefer 3-XL.

Eat-Smart®

Eat-Smart is a high-protein meal-replacement drink mix that's unlike any other because you flavor it yourself. The powder itself is unflavored. When you mix it up, you add your choice of Flavor Enhancers that come in separate containers. There are seven sinfully delicious Flavor Enhancers. My favorites are Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Cup, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Cinnamon Roll. Trust me—they're even more delicious than they sound!

"Eat-Smart is a high-protein meal-replacement drink mix that's unlike any other..."

Eat-Smart mixes instantly and easily. All you have to do is scoop your base formula into a blender or shaker cup with water or skim milk, add in your desired Flavor Enhancer, and blend it.

The nutrition in Eat-Smart is second to none. Eat-Smart is made from only the highest quality proteins, whole-food/low-glycemic carbohydrates, "good" fats, and added fiber. Eat-Smart is also the only meal supplement that contains Nutrim™—an all-natural heart-healthy oat complex that is proven to satisfy your hunger and make you feel fuller, longer, stabilize your blood sugar levels, and even lower your cholesterol.

Eat-Smart also contains probiotics and special enzymes to help you fully absorb the proteins, so you won't experience any gas. It does not contain any hydrogenated oils, corn syrup solids, maltodextrin, fructose, dextrose, or aspartame.
