Weight Training, Muscle Building, Fat Burning, & Exercise Tips from Real SOLUTIONS Magazine

Editor's Letter

Dear Friend,

I must warn you:

What I am about to tell you is quite radical.

It's a departure in what you've come to know about me.

You may, or may not, like the direction I take in this conversation. But, to be honest, I am ready to accept your judgment either way.

You see, I've considered myself a bodybuilder for over 20 years now. And I've been very proud to call myself one. I'm proud of what I've done with my body and with my life. Thinking of myself as a bodybuilder has always helped me stay focused on what's most important to me and my family. Health. As well as constant improvement and growth.

Proud Father
"While I'm still a bodybuilder, now, even more importantly, I'm a husband and a father."

My passion for this endeavor has led me into this industry—known as sports nutrition. As you may know, I once worked for a high-profile company in the industry—the leader in sports nutrition (at the time)—for nearly ten years. And then six short years ago, I started both my company, iSatori, and my magazine Real Solutions to share my passion, and what I've learned, with others.

Over these years, I've also grown and changed as a person. While I'm still a bodybuilder, now, even more importantly, I'm a husband and a father. And I'm also an entrepreneur.

Perhaps one of the greatest challenges, as well as greatest joys, I experience is coming up with ideas that will make a positive impact on the lives of you, my dear reader.

And I admit, the best way I've been able to do this is to ask myself, "What would help me accomplish my goals?"

Selfish? Not at all. You see, I have a strong hunch that you and I are a lot alike. And, when I can honestly answer this question for myself, then I know, without a reason of a doubt, the answer is truly revealing what would help you accomplish your goals!

The ideas created have been abundant. What's difficult is narrowing them down to what ideas or products would really make a difference.

See, our driving mission behind new product concepts is that if I can't do it better and truly create a revolutionary breakthrough to a product category—and I can't do it differently—then I don't want to do it at all.

Even with our monthly newsletter and quarterly magazine, we are pretty ruthless about cutting away the nonsense and culling it down to only the most worthwhile information. In my opinion, we've come up with some excellent articles, training techniques, and nutrition solutions.

At the same time, I also run a growing supplement company. I'm very proud of the supplements we've created. I personally couldn't work out without my H-Blocker. That supplement alone has transformed my intensity in the gym like no other. And when I combine it with our new Morph... Well, I can't even describe the profound effect this combo has on my training!

Julia with the kids
"What can we, as fitness-minded adults and parents, do to encourage our kids to live healthier, fitter, more energetic lives and thus positively affect their self-esteems?"

I've also transformed my own abs with our new MX-LS7 fat burner. It's the strongest and most effective fat burner I've ever used. And as you can imagine, I've tried a number of them in the past two decades.

But as I mentioned, I'm also a family man now. And as I read the stories about the growing obesity epidemic and watched the growing number of kids all around me, I started thinking about their health. Their physical development. Their body-image. And their self-confidence growing up.

As I can only surmise, a lot of our readers are surely asking the same questions of themselves as they watch the children around them, or know of one firsthand, and read the news about the growing number of overweight and unhealthy kids. (Kids with high cholesterol? Type 2 diabetes? Behavioral problems… How is this possible at such young ages?!)

What can we, as fitness-minded adults and parents, do to encourage our kids to live healthier, fitter, more energetic lives and thus positively affect their self-esteems?

Equally, can we challenge ourselves to become the change we want to see in our children and kids across America?

Can we look to ourselves to ensure that our children are guided, nutritionally and actively, so they are not hampered and destined to suffer—for the rest of their lives—by keeping them from becoming overweight, ill behaved, and instead to have a positive, confident self-image? And more so, keep them from becoming yet another unfortunate statistic?

I believe… No, make that, I am certain we can.

It goes without saying that the first step is being a positive role model. As parents, we are the first and most powerful influencers for our children. And whether we're out enjoying a hike or a bike ride on a sunny day or sitting on the couch drinking a soda and eating a bowl of greasy chips, they'll start imitating our behavior—good or bad.

So when they see us, day in and day out, trekking to the gym or putting on our running shoes, it's a good thing. Far from selfish (as we sometimes feel when we take time out for ourselves), it's one of the absolute best things we can do for our kids.

And, make no mistake, when our kids start imitating that type of healthy behavior, there's no better feeling in the world. The affects are profound and lasting.

Cheer Champions
"I was amazed and inspired—by my own little girls!"

For instance, my two oldest daughters (now six and seven) have recently joined a cheerleading and gymnastics team. Both of them are already transforming into amazing athletes. Just this month, after the girls' team took first in their state meet (yes, I am a proud Dad bragging!), we traveled together to Tampa, Florida, where they took third place in the National Cheerleading competition. (I had no idea kids, at least my kids, could move like they did!) They looked as if they had been performing these feats for years—not just months. I was amazed and inspired—by my own little girls!

But there's also the question of nutrition. Face it, it's hard to compete sometimes with outside influences. Julia, my wife, as I've shared many times in the past, is a phenomenal cook. And her veggie dishes are second to none when it comes to flavor. (If you've tried some of her recipes, I'm sure you'll agree.) But even with those tasty recipes, sometimes it's hard to convince our girls to even try the veggies on their plates—much less to eat the whole serving.

And worse, when they're eating at school or at their friends' houses, the kids around them are eating all kinds of foods we don't normally provide at home. Some far from healthy.

Julia and I were discussing this challenge in our kitchen at home, as we cleaned up after dinner one night and I watched as the green beans were scraped from their plates into the sink. Julia turned and said to me, "I just wish there were some way we could know the girls were getting all their vegetables and fruits. There's got to be a better way!?"

She then proudly stated, "Well, we own a nutrition company… why can't we do something about it? Why can't we make a product that solves this problem? I'm certain it's not just a problem we face, but one many parents are faced with too!"

And this got me thinking. "What if we could create a nutritional supplement that provided a full day's servings of vegetables and fruits?"

But would it be possible to create a chewable supplement that tasted good enough for kids to eat, even the pickiest of eaters like my girls… something that tasted like candy… yet had nothing bad in it—no refined sugars… and that included all their vegetables and fruits for the day?

And it had to be even more than that. As parents, we're very picky about what we'll allow in our pantry. I wanted no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, no artificial sweeteners or any preservatives. Natural and healthy. That was very important to us. Boy, with all of these criteria, we had raised the bar for ourselves, ever so high, for this endeavor.

But, I knew we were up for the challenge. And, it would be well worth it!

So I started working with our scientific advisors and internal product development team. I spoke to parents. I talked with hundreds of kids. I met with as many pediatricians as would talk with me. And I took lots and lots of notes. We then began to work with a food chemist. Two PhDs, in fact. The brightest guys I've ever met. It look over 15 months of testing, development, tweaking, and lots and lots of taste tests (with as many kids as we could find from two to 20 years old)...

And, I am so very proud and happy to say... we accomplished our goal.

Made from 12 different, real vegetables and fruits. Just two chewable Voots tarts provide a full day's servings of vegetables and fruits, for kids.

We created Voots™. An all-natural chewable "sweet-tart" that kids love and parents are proud to provide for their children.

Made from 12 different, real vegetables and fruits. Just two chewable Voots tarts provide a full day's servings of vegetables and fruits, for kids.

If you're a Mom or a Dad, then you'll need to eat three or four tarts to get your full day's servings of vegetables and fruits. (And yes, you'll want to eat Voots too—after all, it's good insurance to make sure we're getting the nutrition we need as well. And wait until you taste Voots… you'll love them just as much as your kids do.)

Now, some people may ask, "Why would a 'bodybuilding' company create a product for kids?"

As I said earlier, our ideas come from what we would like to have in our own homes. Supplements we, you and me, want to use.

And as we've evolved over the last six years, Voots became a growing need. We were seeing it every direction we looked. From our own kids to the newspaper and magazine articles to the kids walking by us in the mall or in airports.

And I'm proud to now share Voots with other parents, like you, for you and your kids—and anyone else who may not be getting all their fruits and veggies every day.

I am certain this is a product that is going to do a lot of good for a lot of people. And, honestly, that's why we developed Voots. It's truly a "big-bang" innovation in healthy nutrition for kids. It's fun. It's healthy. And, it's downright tasty.

Ok, so here's the product pitch. If you'd rather not hear it, then skip over this next paragraph. If you would, then please pay close attention, because Voots are not available in stores yet, and we've got an offer you're not going to want to pass up.

And as you begin to eat them, you'll tell your friends and family about Voots, and they'll begin to eat them too. And so on.

Then, collectively, one by one, we will begin to chip away at the ugly, unhealthy statistics our children are faced with and—TOGETHER—we will become part of the solution rather than a part of the problem! And this, my dear friend, was the whole intention and purpose behind the development of this wonderful product, Voots.

With respect and admiration,
