Hi Kalt Thanks for showing an interest

    1.        We all know this one, outstretched arm palm facing away from body fingers pointing up
(like the stop command) gently pull back on the hand using other hand.

    2.        Right arm out in front rotate hand so that thumb is pointing down (feel twist in forearm) place left arm/hand in similar position and cross over arms, (left hand on top)

Interlink finger but focus is on holding the thumb of the right hand, now gently increase the torque on the right arm (increase the twist)
interestingly enought I feel a bit of pain in the left arm along the very same muscles that I am stretching in the right.

if I want to feel pain in my arms I do this

Right arm palm down, try to lift arm while holding it down with left hand on top of right hand.  Pain runs up the inside of forearm to elbow.
Left arm, Same as right arm but also feel pain by, holding right hand and squeeze, feel pain in outside of forearm towards elbow.

doing the sauna and stretching thing is helping as is have a break from the gym although that bit is hard, I tell myself that I will come back stronger.

I was also thinking of you and your long recovery were as I only have to rest for weeks maybe a month. Not a long time in the scheme of things

    Optimistic Eddie

All of the things you were told to do are excellent for tennis elbow. Did they mention when you should start to strengthen your forearm muscles? If you are extremely sore & inflammed doing stretches & isometric strengthening is a GREAT start!  I hope that your arthritis is playing too much of a role in this. Keep me posted as to your progress.

I like the fact that you are being patient & not getting too frustrated. I actually still have some of the forearm pain myself that I was dealing with earlier this year (spring into summer). I haven't taken much time off either, just pushed through & dealt w/the pain. Sometimes our bodies just take over & make us do what's best. Heal quickly.

    Thanks John,

The funny thing is as a boy of 16; I bought the Charles Atlas Course and it was mostly Isometrics

You should try doing isometrics in a sauna, it is like wringing out a wet cloth, it gets the sweat going I can tell you.

    I will keep you posted

I gave blood today, it was a follow up from blood tests taken 4 weeks ago.
the test were standard checks on blood sugar, iron in blood etc. all but one were okay.

the one that they want to double check is low calcium in blood.

There is a direct correlation between this and psoriatic
    arthritis.

other symptoms are a tightening of muscles (makes sense to me)

will have to wait till Wednesday to get results then I can see the DR for some
    treatment

I have researched and seems to be that I have to raise my vit D which in turn
    will bring up calcium.

I wont go to far into it, just leave it to the experts but I am happy knowing
that it ties together ho w I feel and my existing condition as I know that in
time I can get on top of it.

Till then I have some good stress relieving hypnosis to listen to

I am awake at 2am thanks to my body still adapting from 2 weeks of night shift, ( I passed out in my living room chair at 8pm last night)

Good news is my arms have improved dramatically, the ache that was effecting all of my arm has subsided greatly.
I feel the sore elbow is an injury the extra aches are due to the arthrictic condition as I feel it else where too, and the solution to the secondry pain is moderate exercise targeting all muscles, working one muscle then the opposing one.

Feeling good knowing that I know have a plan, I can do moderate leg workouts, same for abs and upper body workout within new limits. stretch the muscles, hopfully retain most of my hard earned muscle and promote a faster recovery.

Still working on hitting all muscles but not going heavy, still working hard though.
Cycle 20 min getting HRT up to 140
15 min treadmill working ramp up

Hand walking over two step rebox's, in the pushup position with two boxes evenly spaced
both hands on floor, put one hand on box to right, then next hand, moving off the boxt towards the right both hand on floor keep moving right where the next box is both hands on and continue till they are on the floor again to the right.
now do it in reverse moving up and down over two boxes to the left, (the feet stay in the one position.
Adjust the hight and repeat, increase height again and repeat

Box Jumps, stand between the boxes, jump up and spread feet to land on boxes, bend knees on landing, try to make no noise. should jump down but I am not taking chances with arthritis in toes, so step down and jump again. repeat numerious times.

now try some supersets, 5 push ups, box walk, box jumps and repeat a few times. lashed in sweat.

put feet up on low pulley in push up position, do a push up and a pike pulling feet towards shoulders, did  a few

standing on buso ball and did some arm work with light weights, good balance for ankle and arms too.

    Foam Roll for legs.
calf raises with light weight more of a stretch followed with foam roll on calfs.

Hi Skinny I performed more self torture today.

ankle cuff and pulley system, kicking in all directions, fwd, back and side ways.
next hold low pulley, stand on one leg, away from pulley, squat down on one leg lean forward with one arm to put plate down on pulley, stand up straight and raise one leg up to chest height and do a one arm row at the same time.

    next was a combo.
2 rebox steps, do 8 push ups between them, then walking on hands walk off them to left then walk on and off to right, repeat 8 times.
stand between boxes and jump up onto them holding medicine ball.
    repeat  circuit 3 times

pulley set at waist height, holding s ball at chest holding handle of pulley, to trunk rotations for core, cable wraps around ball.

Lay between Pully station on foam roll lined up with spine, cables just withing reach, grasp and do rev delt squeeze shoulder blades into foam roll, next raise butt off the foam roll and repeat.

swiss ball chest press with pulley.

    Bar Bell Squats
    10*20kg, 30kg, 40kg, 50kg, 60kg,70kg, 80kg thats enough.

Dumbbell hammer rotations for sore forearms, up to 4kg now, thats a good sign.

going to see a rheumatologist next month so lets hope he has some answers for me.

That's interesting to hold the s ball so the cable goes around it.  That way the force needed to complete the full range of motion stays constant.  Smart.  They teach you that in Scotland?

HI Skinny, dont forget that we are quite inventive (us Scots)
    http://www.scottish-crafts.co.uk/history/inventors.htm

I had another good workout today, doing a lot of core work and functional legs.

I discoved that although I am feeling pain in my forearms with lateral raises that If I turn my arm into a hammer grip I am able to perform my reps, even stranger is the fact that this actually isolates the deltoid even further.

some one leg squats will rowing low pulley, swiss ball twists again. side stepping with elastic band around ankle.

Tried the bench press to test my forearms and managed 14 reps with the 60kg, thats 2 more than last time.
    moving in the right direction.

    Eddie,

Your functional/body weight workouts are GREAT! You might want to consider a second career as a strength & conditioning coach/instructor.  I LOVE your creativity! I hope that your forearms continue to improve. As always, you have a great attitude and keep grinding away! A colleague of mine says, "You gotta grind to shine" you will be shining brighter than you arleady are in no time!

Jumping up onto 2 boxes, stand between them jump up and land without making a noise, later used med ball too
push up between boxes, then hand walking on and off the boxes
done the above as a circuit.

Kettle bell swings, KB press and squats
forearm hammer twists with 1kg 2kg 3kg and 4kg standing on buso ball ballancing

calf raises with light weights it was more about the stretch

assited pullups and dips 5 pull up 10 dips, wide grip, then dips then hammer grip then dips.
