Hi Everyone:  I fully planned to start this program @ 3 weeks ago, however I wound up with 2 herniated disks in my lower back, one was pressing on my ciatic nerve in my right leg.  I am 36 and was literally moved to tears some days.  Go figure.

I had a procedure done this past Friday where they injected cortisone into the nerve and will give me the relief I need on the nerve while my chiropractor starts moving things back into place.

I am ABSOLUTELY commiting myself to this program, not only because I need to get in shape, but with a strong core this injury would have been avoided.  It is first and foremost an investment in my health, then a slamming body for the beach next summer  :)

Just some pre-program measurments to start:  I am 6'0, 230 with @ 26% bodyfat.  Or you could say I am fat to "quite fat"!!!

I will keep everyone posted and let you know when I start week one.

I'm glad that you got some help with the back.  There might be some light cardio that could get you started until the doc gives you the go-ahead for lifting.  Swimming would be okay, I'd think, or even some easy treadmill walking.  Anything to get you moving without delaying the healing of your back.

I really want to perticipate in the project abs but I had gotten a message saying the 100 people have already been selected.  Is it too late or is there any room left?  Thanks.

You can still purchase the Ab System at the discounted price but the Official Study is closed.

You can still do the entire program, you will not be eligable for the prize package is the only kicker.

We would love for you to still follow the plan and you can utilize this forum for support along the way.

Here is the link to order online or you can call 1-866-688-7679 and we can take your order over the phone.

I started the program on 11/9, feeling pretty good so far. How often should I be doing cardio and what time of day is best to do cardio? Doing it three times a week now and not at any consistent time of day.

    Hey Mike,

Welcome! Great to have you on board for this Field Study. I am glad to hear that you are doing well with the program so far!

We do recommend that you do cardio at least 3 times a week on the days off from the lifting routine. You have the choice of when you do the abs system, either on the days off (3 days a week) and you can add the cardio imediately following the ab routine. Or you can do the ab system on the days it is scheduled in the Max Growth Vol 2 and do just the cardio on the days off.

As long as you get the cardio in the time of day is not so much of an issue. 30-45 minutes of HIIT training is adviseable.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Mathias

MikeB--best of luck with the program.  Your determination and discipline will be the key to your success, so dig in and MAKE IT HAPPEN.  You are in control but it doesn't hurt to ask for support and encouragement here and with your friends and family at home.  And if you are a religious man, I'd recommend some daily prayers about your fitness goals, frustrations, etc.  God wants you to be healthy, too.

Success is just around the corner!

Welcome, James.  Or maybe I should call you Mr. Logan, since my mother always told me to use surnames for people older than I.  Stick around here and I'll let you take over the patriarch position.  You make me feel young again (really, you've just got me beat by 4 years, which is not much when you look back on it).

Good luck with the fitness goals.  Keep us posted as that fat melts away with all your dedication, hard work, and determination.

Hi friends!  Well, it doesn't look like my leg/ciatic nerve wants to cooperate with me for this program.  I started on the 15th and alredy had to miss 3 workouts.   I set out to commit 100000000% to this program and not go at it half assed like I have other programs for the past 10 years, but I also commited to NOT have to rely on the pain medication again as that stuff just did me in!

So, I am going to take it easy for a few more weeks and continue with swimming and light cardio.  Hopefully by the new year I can take this project on.

I will keep everyone posted and wish everyone in the program the best of luck.   I was really looking forward to the the trip to LA!

    Mike
